Celtics Star Rips Referees After Jaylen Brown's Controversial Ejection

On a night where Bam Adebayo scored 83 points for the Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics still managed to make headlines.

Jaylen Brown was ejected in the second quarter of Tuesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. Brown was protesting a no-call that happened right in front of referee Tyler Ford, but he went too far and received a pair of technical fouls, resulting in an automatic ejection.

While Ford assessed the first technical, the second one came from Suyash Mehta, who wasn't even arguing with Brown. It was thus perceived as overly harsh and unnecessary.

Many didn't feel Brown's ejection was warranted, including Celtics teammate Derrick White.

Former Spur Derrick White was asked by @NBC10Boston about the moment Jaylen Brown got ejected during the big Boston Celtics vs San Antonio Spurs game. Brown got heated about a no-call and was tossed by NBA ref Tyler Ford after two technical fouls. https://t.co/jBrW6fgNvL pic.twitter.com/GY6mIFluQx

"I think he got fouled, too. He definitely earned the first one. I thought the second one was bull****, honestly," White told reporters after the game. "It was a passionate game, highlevel game. You can't throw out a guy that's done so much for us all year, in a game like this, especially...That was ridiculous."

It was only Brown's second career NBA ejection, but it may have cost Boston the game. The Celtics were leading by two at the time of his dismissal but faded in the second half without him, losing by nine.

Boston will try to bounce back on Thursday against the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road.
