Bears trade pitch lands Maxx Crosby for zero 1st-rounders after Ravens back out of deal

The Chicago Bears are in the market for pass rusher help this offseason, and while they could go after a top free agent or pursue a player in the 2026 NFL Draft, they now have a chance to swing a blockbuster trade.

Thanks to the Baltimore Ravens backing out of the Maxx Crosby blockbuster with the Las Vegas Raiders, the Bears now can pursue Crosby, the superstar pass rusher, in a trade.

Bleacher Report's Alex Kay proposed a trade pitch that would have Crosby coming to the Bears. But, instead of the two first-rounders the Ravens gave up, the Bears would land Crosby at a significantly cheaper cost, not even using a first-round pick.

Bears trade pitch lands Maxx Crosby for 0 1st rounders

"Las Vegas Raiders receive: Two 2026 second-round picks (Nos. 57 & 60), 2026 third-round draft pick (No. 89). Chicago Bears receive: Edge Maxx Crosby," Kay proposed.

This would be a stunning difference compared to what the Ravens initially were going to give up to land Crosby.

Instead of two first-round picks, one in 2026 and another in 2027, the Bears would be giving up two second-round picks and a third-round pick for Crosby.

Crosby, the $112.9 million, 69.5 career sack edge rusher, is one of the best possible pass rushers the Bears could add this offseason.

But, being able to land him for just these three picks, as Kay proposed, would be almost just as stunning as the Ravens backing out of the trade.

While Kay writes, "Packaging together a few picks could be enough to entice the Raiders to move on from Crosby for a second time this offseason," it's hard to believe the Raiders would take so little to part ways with Crosby.

While picks 57, 60, and 89 are valuable selections, sending all three to the Raiders for Crosby is completely outlandish.

Going from bringing back multiple first-rounders to two late second-round picks and a late third-round pick would be a massive drop-off for the Raiders.

This pitch from Kay is incredibly unrealistic, even with the medical concerns about Crosby. The Raiders, if it got to this point, might as well keep him instead of trading Crosby for so little.

While the Bears being linked to Crosby isn't a surprise, and it's a trade they should seriously explore, the Bears being able to land him for this pitched offer would be a massive underpay from Ryan Poles and company.
