The Seattle Seahawks need to add some help along the edge and the Las Vegas Raiders might have one available for them.
According to Corbin K. Smith of the Emerald City Spectrum, the Seahawks showed interest in Raiders edge rusher Tyree Wilson while they were trying to work out the Geno Smith trade with Las Vegas last offseason.
Smith adds that with the Maxx Crosby trade falling through, and with the Raiders having signed Kwity Paye, perhaps the Raiders would be willing to deal Wilson.
"With Raiders now trying to repair relations with Maxx Crosby after signing Kwity Paye, one name I wonder about who could be available: Tyree Wilson," Smith said.
"Former top-10 pick hasn't lived up to that billing, but Seahawks asked about him as part of Geno Smith trade last March," Smith added.
At the moment, the belief is that Crosby will now stay with the Raiders, so it's conceivable that Wilson could be made available if nothing changes, and that's especially possible with Wilson in the final year of his rookie deal (the Raiders aren't going to pick up his fifth-year option).
Wilson has been a major disappointment for Las Vegas since being drafted with the No. 7 overall pick in 2023. The Texas Tech product has posted 12 sacks over three seasons, including four in 2025.
Certainly nothing exciting there, but the Seahawks do need to replace a key depth piece in Boye Mafe, who departed in free agency.
Wilson, who will come cheap in a trade, would check that box, and he has also shown the ability to slide inside if needed.
This is definitely a logical suggestion from Smith and it's a deal we could see going down at some point.
