Paul Ince has already given his seal of approval to Everton's latest attacking target

Everton have been drawing up a list of attacking targets over the last few weeks.

It appears David Moyes is keen to sign another winger this summer, as Everton have been linked to multiple wide players recently.

The Toffees are showing an interest in Crysencio Summerville, and Watford’s Othmane Maamma is also emerging as a target.

The latest report claims Moyes’ scouts have been watching Millwall’s Femi Azeez after his impressive season in the Championship.

With that said, Paul Ince is a big fan of Azeez, having worked with him at Reading.

Ince managed Azeez when he was a young prospect at Reading.

The former England international immediately spotted Azeez’s talent in training, and publicly praised him in 2022.

“Femi (Azeez) is absolutely flying in training. We’re governed by the medical team but when we started pre-season he was brilliant,” said Ince.

“I was thinking ‘wow this kid is ready’ and then he did his hamstring and was devastated to be out for two months.

“He’s trained for the last two or three weeks and is looking stronger and sharper. He will be a great addition for us.”

Azeez ended up playing 89 times for Reading, registering 22 goal involvements for The Royals before departing for Millwall in 2024.

Millwall manager desperate to keep Femi Azeez

Millwall were able to retain Azeez’s signature in the January transfer window despite interest from Ipswich Town.

Speaking last month, manager Alex Neil explained that the club have no need to sell Azeez.

“I think what (message) it sends to people is the fact that we’re in a really good spot,” Neil stated.

“We don’t need to sell any of our players. We’re one point behind Ipswich who have come and coveted our player and wanted to talk to him.

“And the fact that it’s going to be a squad game, we need to make sure that we’ve got strength and depth in all areas and we’re not light in specific parts of our team.

“So I think it shows everybody that as a club we’re in a strong position.”

Indeed, that stance could change if Millwall fail to gain promotion to the Premier League this season, so Everton chiefs will likely be keeping a close eye on their final nine games.
