Report: World-class Chelsea star could leave if club don't qualify for Champions League

Many eyes will be on Enzo Fernandez when Chelsea face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Back in January, it was claimed that PSG had been in contact with Fernandez about a potential move to Paris.

Fast forward to now, and they still appear to be interested in the Chelsea midfielder.

Who would you like to see replace Enzo Fernandez if he leaves Chelsea this summer?

PSG target Enzo Fernandez could push for exit if Chelsea don’t qualify for Champions League

Fernandez has a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, which does not expire until the year 2032.

However, according to L’Equipe, the Argentine could push for a transfer this summer if Chelsea fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

That would be good news for PSG, with the same outlet claiming that Fernandez remains on their radar.

The French champions already seem sold on the 25-year-old, but their interest could become even more serious if he performs at the Parc des Princes.

Fernandez has been one of Chelsea’s standout players this term so is a shoo-in to start for Liam Rosenior’s side.

Former Blue Frank Leboeuf has already warned PSG about Fernandez, believing that he is one player they should be worried about.

Enzo Fernandez’s stats in the Champions League this season

Fernandez will be desperate to play in the Champions League in the 2026/27 campaign, especially given how much he has enjoyed the tournament this term.

So far, the Argentina international has played eight games, scoring two goals and providing one assist across those matches.

He has helped Chelsea to wins against the likes of Barcelona and Napoli. This is the elite level, and the former Benfica man will not want to leave it.

With that being said, again, Fernandez has a contract until 2032. Regardless of what competition Chelsea are in next season, if they do not want to sell their midfielder, that should be the end of it. There is no risk of losing him on a free transfer if they reject offers and keep him in west London for another year.
