As part of the plea agreement, Peterson will serve 32 hours of community service within 180 days of sentencing in lieu of four days of jail time. Peterson was also placed on probation for one year.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a state trooper pulled Peterson over around 3:20 a.m. on April 25 after he was recorded driving 83 mph in a 55 mph zone on Highway 77 in Richfield. He registered a blood alcohol content of 0.14.

A blood sample found Peterson’s blood alcohol content to be greater than 0.15.

Peterson’s Texas case is still pending. His next hearing is scheduled for April 21.

The Minnesota Vikings drafted Peterson seventh overall in the 2007 NFL Draft. He spent his first 10 seasons with Minnesota, highlighted by an MVP award, three rushing titles and four first-team All-Pro selections. He retired from the NFL in 2021.
