Igor Tudor update & Liverpool attacker wants World Cup “job done” – Latest LFC News

Lewis Koumas has asserted his ambitions to reach the World Cup, while Tottenham have seemingly confirmed Igor Tudor will be in charge to face Liverpool on Sunday.

Lewis Koumas scores again and wants World Cup “job done”

Koumas scored again for loan club Hull at the weekend, netting the winner against Wrexham to continue the Tigers’ promotion push.

Since moving there in January, he has scored three times and stepped up after his mid-season switch from Birmingham.

The 20-year-old attacker already has nine Wales caps and is hoping to make an impact in his nation’s World Cup qualifiers at the end of March.

Koumas told the BBC: “It’s a massive campaign. We’re all looking forward to it and hopefully we’ll get the job done. Hopefully I can make an impact and get put in.”

Wales host Bosnia and Herzegovina in Cardiff for the play-off semi-finals, with a win securing passage to the final against Italy or Northern Ireland.

“It’s a nice feeling to score in Wales and to pick up three points on the road,” added Koumas after Hull’s win in Wrexham.

“It’s a massive win. We knew it was a big game. To see the game out, it’s a good feeling.

“I’m loving it here at Hull. It’s a really great place to be around and I’m just really happy in general. I’m looking to develop and I feel like it’s going great here. I’m just excited now for the rest of the season.”

Salah’s form has undoubtedly dropped off a cliff this season, but is it all his fault? Sam Millne looks at the Egyptian’s positioning against Galatasaray and why his role isn’t helping:

“Salah has always been best as a winger who plays as an inside forward, finding space between full-back and centre-half.

“However, this season he has had to stay wide. Just look at his heatmap against Galatasaray; he’s practically hugging the touchline.

“In the Champions League first leg, Salah had just one touch in the opposition box, despite Liverpool having 54 percent possession.”

Many happy returns to Andy Robertson who turns 32 years old today, having been born on March 11, 1994.

The left-back hasn’t been seeing much game time of late, but last week’s decisive goal and assist against Wolves proved he can still be a major player in Liverpool’s season.

Hopefully, the Reds legend’s time on Merseyside ends on a high, should he leave in the summer at the expiration of his contract.
