Seahawks 2026 free agency: Seattle re-signs offensive lineman Josh Jones

The Seattle Seahawks have retained their only free agent offensive lineman ahead of the start of the 2026 NFL league year.

Tom Pelissero reported on Wednesday morning that Seattle has agreed to a one-year deal with reserve tackle/guard Josh Jones. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed but I’m sure we’ll have that information in due time.

One of the keys to the Seahawks’ offensive line success in 2025 was having a quality backup who could start in a pinch. Jones was pressed into action at left tackle for the final three regular season games after Charles Cross [went down with a hamstring injury](/seattle-seahawks-news/157671/charles-cross-injury-jason-myers-winning-field-goal-nfl-news). He performed well in Cross’ absence and will enter 2026 as Seattle’s de facto sixth offensive lineman. Jones is predominantly a tackle but also can play guard in a pinch, so he’s about as valuable a reserve OL as you can have.

Seattle’s only remaining unsigned unrestricted free agents are linebacker Chazz Surratt and wide receiver Dareke Young. If none of Jake Bobo, Brady Russell, Brandon Pili, A.J. Finley, or Cody White get tendered as restricted free agents, then they all become unrestricted but otherwise don’t factor into any compensatory pick formula.
