Latest Brian Thomas Jr rumor is great news for Giants, 49ers, Steelers, Patriots

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has been thrown into trade rumors over the last week, and possible interested teams just received a major update on his potential availability from an NFL insider.

During an appearance on 106.7 The Fan on Wednesday, SNY's Connor Hughes said the Jaguars are entertaining offers for Thomas and will move the young receiver if they receive a compelling offer.

Hughes adds that at this point, there are no substantial offers on the table for Thomas, but things can change, and a second-round pick could get a deal done with Jacksonville.

"They [The Jaguars] are entertaining offers [for Brian Thomas Jr.]," Hughes said. "From my understanding, there aren't many concrete offers on the table right now, which is why that came out that they're not interested in moving him."

"If somebody makes them a compelling offer, they're gonna move him. Brian Thomas is available for the right price. It's not imminent, but before the draft, it would not surprise me if Brian Thomas is playing for another team... I think a second-round pick this year gets it done."

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that the Jaguars have no interest in trading Thomas, but Hughes' latest report signals that the LSU product can be acquired for the right price.

Nevertheless, Thomas being potentially available is a fantastic development for receiver-needy teams, especially the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New England Patriots.

Though Thomas had a down year in 2025, he posted an electric rookie season in 2024 with 1,282 yards and ten touchdowns in 87 receptions.

With a change of scenery in a new offense, Thomas could regain form and return to being a dynamic playmaker. If the Giants, 49ers, Steelers, or Patriots are willing to pay the price for Thomas, they could be getting a budding superstar receiver still on his rookie deal.
