The Green Bay Packers, and the rest of the NFL world, were shocked late last night by an unbelievable trade report. Previously, the Baltimore Ravens had agreed to send two first round picks to the Las Vegas Raiders for five-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Maxx Crosby. As everyone around the league knew, Crosby is rehabbing from a severe knee injury in 2025.
Despite having known about the injury and the recovery, the Ravens suddenly nixed the trade. The Raiders, who thought they had cleared over $30 million of salary cap space, had agreed to many free agent contracts with other players. Now, they will honor those agreements and keep Crosby’s massive salary.
Baltimore, meanwhile, went out and signed Trey Hendrickson in NFL free agency to a four-year $120 million contract.

As one might have expected, the rest of the NFL was not very happy about the way Baltimore handled the situation. Indeed, the Ravens have received a great deal of criticism from fans, analysts, and others around the league.
Former Packers offensive lineman TJ Lang is among them:
The amount of water carrying from national media that’s going on for the Ravens is astounding. Got cold feet and wanted to keep their picks. Slime ball move after a handshake deal. Just call it what it is.

Lang, like many in the league, think that Baltimore double-crossed Las Vegas so that they could sign Hendrickson instead.
For a little while, many around the Packers were worried that the Crosby deal being called off meant the Dallas Cowboys would back out of the Rashan Gary trade. After all, Dallas had been rumored to be interested in Crosby before it was announced he was going to Baltimore.
Thankfully, the Cowboys have announced that they are no longer interested in trading for Crosby and will honor their trade with the Packers.
