Report: Steelers Hosted Washington CB Ephesians Prysock For Pre-Draft Visit

Cornerback was one of the key positions of need for the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, and the NFL Draft offers some talented young cornerbacks for the Steelers to take a look at.

According to a report from The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo, the Steelers did just that last week before the start of the legal tampering window. DeFabo reports that the Steelers hosted Washington cornerback Ephesians Prysock for an official pre-draft visit last week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted Washington CB Ephesians Prysock last week for a Top 30 visit, per source.

At 6-3, 196 and with 33 1/8” arms, he’s a super long corner. He played more than 2,600 defensive snaps over 49 college games and had a strong showing at the Senior Bowl.

While the Steelers then agreed to sign veteran Jamel Dean on Monday in the legal tampering window, and re-signed Asante Samuel Jr. to a one-year deal, cornerback still remains a need from a long-term perspective for the Steelers opposite Joey Porter Jr.

Prysock had a great Combine showing in Indianapolis. He measured in at 6033, 196 pounds with 33 1/8-inch arms. The Washington product also clocked a 4.45 40 with a 39-inch vertical, opening plenty of eyes in the process. Steelers Depot’s Alex Kozora even highlighted him as a name that was worth a longer look from the Steelers’ perspective.

During his time in college, Prysock played in 49 career games between stints at Arizona and then Washington. He had one interception in 26 games at Washington, and one interception in 23 games at Arizona.

In those 49 career games, Prysock had 170 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, those two interceptions and 20 pass breakups, including seven in 2025 with the Huskies. He was a named an honorable mention All-Big Ten cornerback last season. He then went and had a strong Senior Bowl week before then turning heads at the Combine.

His size is the most intriguing aspect of his game. That height and those long arms are what the Steelers have looked for in the past at the position, though that could change some with new defensive backs coach Jason Simmons and secondary coach Joe Whitt Jr., but early on that doesn’t appear to be the case based on the interest in Prysock.

Prysock is just the second reported official pre-draft visit for the Steelers early in the cycle, joining Miami (FL) offensive tackle Markel Bell. The Steelers are set to have 12 picks in April’s draft under GM Omar Khan.
