Packers Discussion: What signings would you have made in free agency?

At this point, it seems pretty clear that the Green Bay Packers wanted to protect their compensatory draft picks in 2027, which is what I expected coming in. The Packers could have burned the boats, offsetting comp picks and borrowing money from the future for the sake of the 2026 squad, but that clearly wasn’t the path they went down.

I’m sure there were compensatory free agents they would have considered at certain price points, like the high-end cornerbacks, but Jaylen Watson almost immediately signed with the Los Angeles Rams, and Tariq Woolen took a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, which wouldn’t have done much for Green Bay if their eyes were truly set on 2027. (Woolen probably wants to make a much higher APY in 2027, which is why he took the one-year deal with Philadelphia. The market pushed back on cornerback pricing, compared to 2025 free agency.)

Instead, the Packers have mostly worked the special teams market, bringing in a high-volume contributor in Benjamin St-Jude (who offset the phantom Kingsley Enagbare comp pick) and returner Skyy Moore (who has the potential to offset the Quay Walker fifth-round comp pick, depending on which incentives in his deal actually end up hitting).

Obviously, some fans aren’t too happy that the team hasn’t spent its way out of injuries that could potentially impact pass-rusher Micah Parsons, defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt, tight end Tucker Kraft and right tackle Zach Tom early in the 2026 season. If you had to change anything about the Packers’ free agent process, what would you have done? Sound off in the comment section.
