Liam Rosenior gives Chelsea his 'seal of approval' to sign one of his former Strasbourg players - journalist

Liam Rosenior is looking to make use of his and Chelsea’s contacts over in Strasbourg after already agreeing a deal to sign Emanuel Emegha this summer.

Andrey Santos is the perfect example of the Strasbourg and Chelsea partnership working its magic, having established himself as a regular for the Blues after his loan spell.

And there’s even more evidence of it working with Emanuel Emegha earning a move to Chelsea in the summer after an impressive first half of the season, despite his injury struggles of late.

However, we reserve judgment until he’s fit and playing games for the Blues.

Chelsea’s business might not be done there either, as Liam Rosenior is looking at a move for Valentin Barco, who previously played for Brighton and Hove Albion.

Cole Palmer may be Chelsea’s best signing under BlueCo, but who’s your favourite?

Liam Rosenior wants Valentin Barco at Chelsea

Guillem Balague provided an update on Valentin Barco’s situation his X account.

A player to keep a close eye on: Valentín “Colo” Barco is having a massive season at Strasbourg. In France, he’s already considered one of the most intriguing young midfielders in Ligue 1: after starting out as a full-back, he’s shifted to playing inside and has become one of the team’s most inventive players.

He’s on the radar of the Argentina national team and is almost certain to make the squad for the Finalissima against Spain, where he could form a midfield partnership with Enzo Fernández.

In England, they were already keeping tabs on him closely: Enzo Maresca had him in mind. Plus, with Liam Rosenior—who helped him shine at Strasbourg—in charge of the team, Barco has another big advocate inside the club.

It’s well known that coaches don’t sign players, but Rosenior has given his seal of approval to a potential addition.

Don’t be surprised if he makes the leap to Chelsea this summer with a long-term contract. His growth in France has firmly put him on the map.
