“KC Will Miss You”: Gracie Hunt Sends Tearful Message as Trent McDuffie Heads to Rams in…

Trent McDuffie and the Kansas City Chiefs did not have a good 2025 NFL season. The franchise had one of their worst seasons in recent history, finishing 6-11 in the regular season, and missing out on the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

The franchise has now decided to make some important decisions regarding their players. And now Gracie Hunt herself has decided to respond.

The Chiefs have traded McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams, which shocked many in the NFL. The cornerback spent four seasons with the Chiefs, helping them win two Super Bowl championships and earning two All-Pro selections. He was drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, and signed a four-year rookie deal at the time and activated the option for a fifth-year.

However, salary cap constraints led the Chiefs to move on from him, as they prioritized keeping stars like Patrick Mahomes. In return for the player, the Rams gave their No. 29 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, along with fifth-round and sixth-round picks as well, and a third-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. This helps the Chiefs plan out their roster for the future.

As McDuffie leaves the franchise, his teammates are posting emotional messages for him with Mahomes, Xavier Worthy, Charles Omenihu, and Jaylen Watson all expressing their disappointment. Chiefs heiress Gracie, daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt who works closely for the franchise, also wrote an emotional message for the cornerback.

She posted McDuffie’s farewell post on her Instagram story with the caption, “Once a part of Chiefs Kingdom, always a part of Chiefs Kingdom. KC will miss you.” McDuffie has already moved on from his old team and signed a significant contract with his new team.

McDuffie has signed a record-breaking four-year contract worth $124 million extension with the Rams, with $100 million guaranteed for him. This deal makes him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history at an average of $31 million per year. It is also quite an upgrade from his previous contract. The new contract only starts from the 2027 season, as he will still play on his original contract with the Chiefs.

The Rams have been bolstered by his addition, and will benefit from his abilities. In the 2025 season, McDuffie played in 13 games and recorded 63 combined tackles, 2 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and 7 passes defended.

Trent McDuffie will now prepare for the 2026 NFL season with his new franchise.
