Seahawks Sign WR Rashid Shaheed To Multi-Year Deal

Looking to add a playmaker on offense and special teams, the Seahawks sent fourth and fifth-round picks to the Saints in exchange for Shaheed in early November, and the move proved to be a big one in the Seahawks' journey to a Super Bowl title. In addition to making some big plays on offense, Shaheed was a game-changer in the return game, returning a kickoff for a touchdown in a win over Atlanta, and a punt for a touchdown to help spark a dramatic comeback win over the Rams in Week 16. Shaheed, who was the only player in the NFL with kick and punt return touchdowns during the 2025 season, added another kick return touchdown to jumpstart Seattle's playoff run, returning the opening kick 95 yards for a touchdown to set the tone in a divisional round blowout win over the 49ers.

Shaheed, who earned Pro-Bowl honors as a returner, finished the 2025 season ranked fifth in kick return average (29.8), and fourth in punt return average (14.7) just behind teammate Tory Horton, who was averaging 14.9 per return prior to suffering a season-ending shin injury.

Shaheed sticking around gives the Seahawks a deep and talented group of receivers, including AP Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Pro Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, Shaheed and Tory Horton, a standout rookie before his season was cut short by a shin injury.

"We're dangerous, we know that, we know what we can do," Shaheed said. "Obviously with JSN being the Offensive Player of the Year, we know what he can do, Coop is still doing it, me being able to provide in ways that I can, and then Tory, there's so many different varieties of athletes, and we all can make plays in different ways, so it's going to be a ton of fun."

And with the benefit of a full offseason and training camp with the team, Shaheed and the Seahawks will also be looking to expand his role in the offense.

"I'm super excited to get a full offseason with this team, with these coaches," he said. "It's exciting that I get to be around these guys for a longer amount of time and build off of what we built last year, and for my role to continue to grow. Just being a part of it all is special."
