Opinion: Two potential free agents Everton should target this summer including striker already…

Everton are expected to revamp their squad in the summer transfer window.

The Friedkin Group shelled out over £100m last summer, and there is a belief that Everton could be big spenders once again.

That will certainly be more likely if the Toffees manage to qualify for Europe, as they’ll need significantly more depth.

Everton manager David Moyes on Europe.

With that said, they’ll have to be smart with their recruitment, so the free agent market is definitely worth exploring.

Here are two players they should target whose contracts are due to expire at the end of the season.

Moyes was ‘fixated’ on signing a striker in January, so that’ll certainly be a priority position in the summer window.

Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is someone they should be considering, as he’s due to become a free agent in June.

It was reported back in November that Vlahovic was on Moyes’ radar and interestingly, Roma were reportedly having a look.

So, quite clearly, the Friedkins are leading that interest.

Antonio Rudiger

Rudiger has been a key player for Real Madrid since joining from Chelsea during the summer of 2022.

The towering defender hasn’t signed fresh terms with Madrid up to now, so he’s due to become a free agent

Indeed, it’ll be a challenge for Everton to persuade him to join, with Arsenal reportedly linked, but they should at least enquire and pitch their project.

Rudiger may be more enticed to join the Toffees over the likes of Arsenal due to playing time, as he’d become the first-choice centre-back under Moyes.

Qualifying for Europe would certainly strengthen their chances.
