NFL Network has been without longtime presenter Jamie Erdahl, 37, in recent days for the network's hit morning show "Good Morning Football."

Her absence has come at a heightened time, with the NFL caught in the whirlwind of free-agency and trade chatter, highlighted by the news that the Baltimore Ravens suddenly backed out of their trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for star defensive end Maxx Crosby.

Erdahl explained her absence in a heartfelt post on Wednesday morning across her social media platforms. Since curiosity is mounting, I’ll share what I feel comfortable with: I have been away from @GMFB due to an extremely personal + tragic health situation of an immediate family member," she wrote.

"I want to thank my leaders at the NFL for allowing me this time at home. I’ll be back on Monday," Erdahl continued, confirming her return for March 16.

Erdahl replaced the departing Kay Adams — now of "Up & Adams" at FanDuel TV — in 2022. She's served as one of the primary Los Angeles studio anchors since then.

Prior to working at NFL Network, she was a basketball and softball star at St. Olaf College. She worked for both NESN — as a Boston Bruins sideline reporter — and CBS — a college basketball sideline reporter — in the early 2010s.

Erdahl was also selected as a Netflix Christmas Day NFL pregame show host in 2025, a job she will continue next year in addition to her NFL Network duties.

Free Agency Storylines

Erdahl has missed a frantic free-agency period full of twists. The Las Vegas Raiders were operating under the assumption that Crosby was no longer a member of the team and signed Kwity Paye to a $48 million deal.

This is far from the only move the Raiders have made (the team is also without the two extra first-round picks from the trade): C Tyler Linderbaum, LB Nakobe Dean, LB Quay Walker, EDGE Malcolm Koonce, WR Jalen Nailor, and others have all been signed.

The Ravens found their edge-rusher in free agency, signing former Cincinnati Bengals veteran Trey Hendrickson to a mammoth four-year deal worth up to $120 million.

A handful of other $100 million deals have been agreed to, including quarterback Daniel Jones's two-year pact with the Indianapolis Colts ($100 million), EDGE Jalen Phillips' deal with the Carolina Panthers (four-years, $120 million), LB Odafe Oweh with the Washington Commanders (four-yera, $100 million), and WR Alec Pierce back to the Colts (four-years, $116 million).
