Packers linked to massive 6-foot-7 offensive tackle to help Jordan Love

Following a fairly significant exodus on defense during free agency, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Packers target quality depth either in the secondary or to help edge rusher Micah Parsons up front early in next month’s 2026 NFL Draft.

However, given the outsized value that quarterback Jordan Love has on the Packers’ trajectory in what could prove to be a pivotal season for head coach Matt LaFleur, Green Bay could look elsewhere with their first pick, in the second round next month.

Packers projected to add massive offensive tackle in 2026 NFL Draft

Green Bay Packers Coach Matt LaFleur, left, talks with General Manager Brian Gutekunst during practice on July 25, 2025, at Ray Nitschke Field in Ashwaubenon, Wis.

According to Jacob Infante of Pro Football Network, the packers could look to prioritize selecting Northwestern offensive tackle Caleb Tiernan.

“Caleb Tiernan is a massive blocker, standing at 6’7″ and weighing 329 pounds, with gap-zone run-blocking versatility,”Infante wrote. “He has the size, strength, hand usage, and spatial awareness to become a good starter in the NFL.”

After the way last season ended for the Packers’ offense, and some turnover up front along the offensive line early in free agency, adding a bookend tackle to pair with fellow homegrown talent Morgan Moses could easily be general manager Brian Gutekunst’s path forward.
