There seems to be someone on X.com who is impersonating Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. On Wednesday, a tweet went viral from an account that appears to be the standout Bucs wideout. Scammers and phishers on the internet are getting really clever these days, as this account with the handle “@EgbukaEmeka,”, which features the page reposting Buccaneers content, and also has an email link in the bio for “business inquiries”.
The tweet that the Egbuka page tweeted out read “Is CTE even real?”, and, as you can imagine, it’s gaining a lot of interaction across X.

Also on Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ public relations team was on the case of the fake account and tweet quickly, as they sent this message about the fake account:
“The below account is neither owned nor operated by Emeka Egbuka. It is in no way affiliated with Emeka or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”
The fake tweet was sent out at 2:27 P.M. EST, and at the time of writing this (4:10 p.m.), it’s gained 8,300 likes and 1.7 million views.
There are, of course, people in the comments who believe that it is actually the Buccaneers receiver who sent out the tweet, but they are probably unaware of the message sent by the Buccaneers Comms page.
