It’s all square going into the second leg as Mikel Arteta’s side came away from Germany with a 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen.
It was low quality fare, but Robert Andrich headed the home side ahead early in the second half, before a late penalty won by Noni Madueke, and converted by Kai Havertz, secured what could be a valuable draw for the Gunners. Suffice to say, there’s lots of room for improvement next week.
