Liverpool has been tipped to sign FC Porto wonderkid Oskar Pietuszewski at some point in the future, with the 17-year-old being linked with a move to Arsenal and Chelsea this week.

Pietuszewski only moved to Porto from the Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok in the winter transfer window, but he has immediately made an impression in Portugal, starting three out of eight league matches since. In his last two appearances, he has scored two goals.

This week, O Jogo said that the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have been following him for some time. And now, the former Poland international and president of its FA, Zbigniew Boniek, has tipped him for a move to Liverpool or Manchester United.

Boniek, a former Juventus and AS Roma star, made it clear he does not want to interfere with the decisions of Poland manager Jan Urban, though calls for Pietuszewski to get a senior national team call-up are growing.

And Boniek praised the Porto winger and questioned the idea that talented youngsters must always wait before stepping into bigger roles, hinting at possible inclusion in the next Poland squad.

"I’m not the one who will choose the players for Jan," Boniek said, referring to the national team manager. "I want to thank him because he called me on my birthday.

"We talked about the squad, the players and Pietuszewski. But that’s a matter between Jan and me, so to speak.

"I won’t be the next person telling the manager who he should call up and who he shouldn’t. However, I want to say something interesting: if someone is good, he is good."

It is clear that Boniek is a big fan of Pietuszewski's. And he spoke openly about wanting to see him join one of the biggest names in world soccer.

"The structure of his muscles, his appearance, the way he moves and his trajectory all predispose him to a truly colossal career," the former Poland star continued.

"I don’t want to jinx it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Pietuszewski went to Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, or Barcelona."

Liverpool.com says: Pietuszewski appears to be a big talent, but Porto is the ideal place for him at the moment. There, he can get regular game time and continue to work on his game.

In the future, it might make sense for him to move to the Premier League. For now, however, there should be no rush.
