Arsenal are reportedly working on a surprise deal to sign Castello Lukeba.
The 23-year-old centre-back, who currently plays for RB Leipzig, has been linked with several top European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Now, it appears the Gunners have seriously joined the race for his signature.
According to the reliable French newspaper L’Équipe, Arsenal have opened initial talks over a potential summer deal for Lukeba.
Although no formal offer has been made to either Leipzig or the player, discussions between the parties have taken place in recent weeks.

Lukeba is understood to be keen on taking the next step in his career after three seasons in the Bundesliga.
Leipzig are reportedly hoping for a summer bidding war, which could see the defender leave for a fee exceeding €60m.
Lukeba’s current contract with Leipzig runs until the summer of 2029.
