The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed safety AJ Finley, according to Finley’s agency, SportsTrust Advisors.

Finley, a 24-year-old restricted free agent, was a candidate to earn a backup safety role for the Seahawks this past season, but landed on injured reserve on Aug. 4 with a knee injury suffered in practice and missed the rest of the season.
Finley, who went undrafted out of Ole Miss in 2023, was claimed off waivers by the Seahawks on Nov. 26, 2024. He appeared in four of Seattle’s final six games that season, recording one tackle while playing six snaps on defense and 62 on special teams.
A Mobile, Ala., native, Finley originally signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023. He had three tackles and a forced fumble over 12 games during his rookie season, which included playing 200 snaps on special teams.
Finley appeared in 10 games for Los Angeles in 2024 before he was released on Nov. 25. He had 11 tackles while continuing to get the majority of his snaps on special teams.
Finley was a second-team All-SEC selection as junior at Ole Miss in 2021.
