The Indianapolis Colts have signed quarterback Daniel Jones to a two-year, $88 million deal, which sees Jones earn $50 million in 2026, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
So, the Colts get their quarterback tied down for the next two seasons, and now they can move forward with the rest of their offseason work.
However, not everyone is pleased with the amount of money Jones will be making in Indianapolis.
That is a lot of money for a quarterback who hasn't shown to be up to the level of others making similar money.
And for ESPN's Chris "Mad Dog" Russo, he isn't a fan at all of the Jones deal.
"This is a guy who is always hurt number one, number two, he hasn't earned this," Russo said. "This is ridiculous. Most of the quarterbacks who making huge money, Mahomes, Allen, Stafford, Lamar, at least they're great. I mean $50 million for Daniel Jones, please, that's crazy. That's absurd."

Jones gets what he's worth
As we know in the NFL, you are only worth what someone will pay you, and in Jones' case, the Colts felt comfortable in shelling out some serious money for two years.
Whether we agree on the price tag or not is debatable, but Jones got what he was worth, simply because the Colts paid it.
We know that quarterback contracts are a big talking point, and will be again after Jones' extension, but the Colts are putting huge faith in a quarterback coming back from an Achilles injury to be "the" guy for them.
Decent quarterbacks are hard to find, and whether or not you agree, the Colts clearly view Jones as one.
