Celtics' Joe Mazzulla, Suns' Jordan Ott and Pistons' J.B. Bickerstaff
With Jordan Ott at the helm, the Phoenix Suns continue to exceed expectations in the 2025-26 season, most recently moving to 38-27 with an impressive road win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Why Suns’ Jordan ott Deserves NBA coach of the Year
Thanks in large part to Ott’s coaching, the Suns are within three games of a top-three seed in the Western Conference as the season winds down.
The Suns have done more than exceed preseason expectations, which is why Ott is deserving of the league’s Coach of the Year Award, despite worthy seasons from other notable coaches around the league.
While J.B. Bickerstaff’s job in Detroit is admirable and Joe Mazzulla’s done great things in Boston, Ott has redefined what is to be expected from rookie head coaches in situations deemed as rebuilds.
PHNX Suns explains just why Ott is deserving of Coach of the Year in 2026, looking at how his case exceeds that of the league’s other candidates. Follow the show: @PHNX_Suns, @ErikRuby, @GilMcGregor_, @Espo and @StephenPG3!
