During his tenure running the Philadelphia Eagles front office, Howie Roseman has never been scared to take a big swing to improve the roster. In light of recent news, the longtime GM has another opportunity to bring in a big-name defensive talent.
Over the past 24 hours, Maxx Crosby has been the biggest story in the NFL. After the Las Vegas agreed to trade him to the Baltimore Ravens, the deal was rescinded due to concerns that arose from his physical.
With Crosby back on the market now, Bleacher Report‘s Alex Kay put out an updated list of potential landing spots in a trade. Among those mentioned were the 2024 Super Bowl Champions. In the hypothetical deal, the Eagles part with their 2026 first-round pick in exchange for the 28-year-old.
As he approaches 30, Crosby is still among the top defensive ends in the league. He is fresh off a productive 2025 campaign with the Raiders, securing his fifth straight Pro-Bowl selection. Across 15 appearances, he recorded double-digit sacks (10.0) for the fourth time in his career.

While Crosby might be the biggest name in the NFL trade landscape, the Eagles have a saga of their own to address. That being wide receiver AJ Brown. After another season filled with drama, all reports indicate that the Eagles could be parting ways with the star wideout.
During the March 11th installment of “The Ringer NFL Show,” Sheil Kapadia tossed out the idea of the Eagles making a run at Crosby and having Brown be the main piece of the return package.
“How about this,” Kapadia said. “How about a deal that includes AJ Brown and Maxx Crosby, because it’s always been about (Roseman) just getting on the phone and saying ‘Hey, this could be fascinating’ and going from there,” Kapadia said. “(The Eagles) say we don’t want to offer you two first-round picks, but what if we gave you A.J. Brown and a second-round pick for Maxx Crosby? Who says ‘No’ to that? I think the Eagles ask if they can get a later pick back, so maybe like A.J. Brown, a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick for Maxx Crosby?”
Still in the early stages of the offseason, only time will tell how Roseman decides to tweak the Eagles’ roster in an effort to keep Philadelphia in the title hunt.
