Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher and potential Philadelphia Eagles target Maxx Crosby delivered a message on his cancelled trade this week.

Edge rusher Maxx Crosby has every right to be bitter about what happened with his trade to the Baltimore Ravens this week. Crosby probably has the power to again force his way out with the Las Vegas Raiders and play for another team in 2026 too.

But it doesn’t appear Crosby is going to do that.

On X late Wednesday night, Crosby presented a positive message about his return to the Raiders after his cancelled deal to Baltimore.

“Everything happens for a reason,” Crosby wrote as a caption to a WWE introduction GIF. “Believe nothing you hear & half of what you see.

“I’m a Raider. I’m back. Run that [expletive].”

Clearly, it’s not the situation he or the Raiders wanted. Otherwise, the team wouldn’t have agreed to trade him to the Ravens.

But Crosby is returning to Las Vegas putting his best foot forward.

That’s great for him, the Raiders, and probably the NFL. However, it’s not the best news for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Crosby’s message came at the end of a day filled with Eagles trade proposals to bring the Raiders edge rusher to Philadelphia.

Maxx Crosby Delivers Classy Message After Raiders Return

It didn’t get the same reaction as his nullified trade. But Crosby’s message started going viral late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

A lot of pundits saw his message as confirmation that he will play for the Raiders next season. Thus, that’s why the Eagles could see the post as bad news.

But a lot of pundits just saw the message as classy.

“I have an endless amount of respect for Maxx Crosby,” wrote NFL insider Jordan Schultz on X. “Who left Vegas with nothing but total class!

“And now, he posts an awesome message for the Nation.”

Vegas sports reporter Nick Walters had a long list of why he loved Crosby’s message.

“Class act: Maxx Crosby did it the right way in what he thought was his exit from the Raiders, helping mend fences now that he’s likely staying,” wrote Walters.

This wasn’t its intended purpose. But after the 30 other teams (excluding the Raiders and Ravens) read that message, who wouldn’t want Crosby on their roster?

Could Eagles Trade for Crosby?

While Crosby’s message is likely to continue going viral Thursday, it’s probably going to have little impact on the NFL rumor mill.

The day after Crosby’s nullified deal, that rumor mill relaunched the trade speculation it had with the edge rusher during the first week of March.

With the Eagles, multiple trade pitches emerged. Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay proposed Philadelphia send No. 23 overall pick to Las Vegas for Crosby.

“Crosby would be a perfect fit in the City of Brotherly Love. The team needs an elite pass-rushing talent to lead the defense, as no Eagles player notched more than 6.5 sacks last season,” Kay wrote. “Haason Reddick’s 11-sack effort in 2023 marked the most recent time a Philadelphia defender accumulated more than eight sacks in a season.”

The Ringer’s Sheil Kapadia proposed the Eagles send wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Raiders in a package for Crosby.

“(The Eagles) say we don’t want to offer you two first-round picks, but what if we gave you A.J. Brown and a second-round pick for Maxx Crosby? Who says ‘No’ to that?” Kapadia said, via Heavy Sports’ Kevin McCormick.

“I think the Eagles ask if they can get a later pick back, so maybe like A.J. Brown, a second-round pick and a fifth-round pick for Maxx Crosby?”

The Eagles could be entertaining Crosby trade discussions because they’ve been unable to land an edge rusher yet this week. Philadelphia lost Jaelan Phillips to a mammoth deal to the Carolina Panthers.

The Eagles also struck out on Trey Hendrickson and Bradley Chubb on Wednesday.

Crosby has made five straight Pro Bowls the past half a decade. In 2025, he registered 10 sacks with 28 tackles for loss and 20 quarterback hits. He also had six pass defenses, two forced fumbles and one interception.
