Former Everton player Don Hutchinson has admitted former Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah would be the perfect addition for the Blues.
David Moyes’ side have conceded the third-fewest goals (33) this season, with only Arsenal (22) and Manchester City (27) having conceded fewer.
However, it is an ageing backline at Everton, with Michael Keane and James Tarkowski both in their thirties.
Quansah departed the Premier League over the summer to sign for Bayer Leverkusen, but Hutchinson thinks he’d be a good fit for Everton.

Don Hutchinson names Jarell Quansah as perfect Everton defender
Everton showed an interest in Quansah last year, when it was made apparent that he was in line to leave Liverpool.
A direct move between the rivals would have been rare, with the defender eventually opting to move to the Bundesliga.
Taking to X, Hutchinson shared just how impressed he had been watching Quansah in Champions League action.
‘Madness allowing Quansah to leave. He is So calm on the ball. Quansah to Newcastle-Everton pls,’ he said.

Quansah still has four years remaining on his deal in Germany, which would prove costly for Everton to release him from.
However, he is a player that could offer a long-term answer at the back alongside Jarrad Branthwaite.
Everton need long-term centre-back options
James Tarkowski has been hailed as seriously underrated, but neither he nor Michael Keane are getting any younger.
Jake O’Brien will eventually be able to return to his natural centre-back position once a new right-back is signed.
However, Everton’s depth at centre-back could soon take a hit.
Michael Keane admitted he wants to stay at Everton, but his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
Although Quansah remains an unlikely option, replacing him with a player in his early twenties would offer Everton a long-term replacement.
