Jeremy Doku is looking to hold “talks” with Man City about his future before signing a new contract, according to reports.
The Belgian international has been in great form this season, but TEAMtalk claim that he harbours “concerns” about his role in the first-team squad, and he will seek assurances before putting pen to paper on an extension.
To further complicate matters, Atletico Madrid are said to be hovering in the background, with the La Liga side keen on recruiting Doku this summer.

Diego Simeone’s team are expected to offload Antoine Griezmann, but they are also fear losing Julian Alvarez.
Alvarez is considering his future
When asked after the 5-2 win over Tottenham on Tuesday night whether he would still be an Atletico player next season, the Argentinian international replied:
“I don’t know, I don’t know, but maybe yes, maybe no. You never know. But I’m very happy here. You ask me a question that will end up all over the place, but I’m happy.”
Some City supporters will be having flashbacks to a couple of years ago when Alvarez made similar remarks at the end of the 2023/24 season. Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with potential bids for the striker this summer.
Should Doku have concerns about his role at Man City?
The arrival of Antoine Semenyo would certainly have ruffled some feathers. Manager Pep Guardiola already has the likes of Savinho, Rayan Cherki and Phil Foden to play out wide, in addition to Doku.
However, Semenyo has been mostly deployed on the right flank by Guardiola, while Doku generally favours the left-hand side, so the signing of Semenyo should not adversely affect the Belgian’s game time. He has already started 22 times this campaign despite two spells on the treatment table with calf issues.
