Nottingham Forest will be hoping to put its Premier League worries to one side as it looks to plot a path to the Europa League final, with Danish side Midtjylland its next opponent.

Although relegation from the Premier League remains a very real concern for Vitor Pereira's side, Europe has provided it with some respite recently, having already seen off Fenerbahce in the play-off round last month.

Forest will now be aiming to claim an early advantage from the first leg of its last-16 tie, although Midtjylland could provide a stern test, having finished third during the league phase of the competition.

Team news

Forest has no new injury concerns heading into its last-16 tie, although long-term absentees Chris Wood, Willy Boly, John Victor and Nicolo Savona remain out.

What’s more, Pereira will need to weigh up his priorities as he looks to keep his side in the Premier League for next season, with a potentially crucial game at home to Fulham coming up on Sunday before a huge encounter against Tottenham the following weekend.

Forest is 17th in the Premier League table, level on points with West Ham in the final relegation spot. Tottenham is 16th in the standings, just one point ahead of Forest and West Ham. Leeds in 15th is three points clear of the drop zone.

As for the visitors, Midtjylland will be without top scorer Franculino, which might come as a big boost to Forest.

Chilean winger Dario Osorio is also out through suspension.
