One of Arsenal’s reported transfer target has been discussing the topic of a move.

A reported Arsenal transfer target has responded to a question about his future. The Gunners will be fully concentrated on the tasks at hand, given they are still on for a quadruple at this stage.

Such a historic achievement remains unlikely, especially given the rigours of a title race, but while it is on, the dream is alive.

But behind the scenes, the club’s recruitment chief, which includes sporting director Andrea Berta, must continue to consider possible transfer targets ahead of the summer.

Arsenal are unlikely to match their spending of recent years, which has regularly seen them spend over £200million on summer incomings. But if they can add a key piece here or there, they are still likely to pull the trigger on a big-money deal.

One of the few places where Arsenal may feel they can improve the level of competition is up top. Gabriel Jesus faces an uncertain future, and Mikel Arteta may need to decide whether Kai Havertz has a long-term future at the club, although he is a big fan of the German’s.

One forward who continues to be linked is Atletico Madrid superstar Julian Alvarez. The former Manchester City title winner has been a sensation with Atleti since his big-money move, and it was a move that Arsenal chief Berta sanctioned during his time in the Spanish capital.

Silly money has been touted for Alvarez, but what is clear is that the deal would cost close to or more than £100million. That puts a dampener on Arsenal’s hopes, but it hasn’t stopped speculation, and this week, the forward was asked about the possibility of a move this summer.

“I don’t know, I don’t know, but maybe yes, maybe no. You never know,” the told reporters. But I’m very happy here. You ask me a question that will end up all over the place, but I’m happy.

“I’m thinking about the day-to-day, I’m working to improve, to give my best here, I never said anything bad about the club, I’m very grateful, the people also showed me their affection, so I’m very happy.” It’s worth noting that Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Alvarez.
