Dominic Calvert-Lewin issued a big compliment to Richarlison when speaking in a new interview about Everton.

Calvert-Lewin spoke to CBS Golazo, and was asked at the end to choose a five-a-side team.

The former Everton striker opted to choose all former Toffees players, including Wayne Rooney.

Calvert-Lewin said Rooney’s return was the most surreal aspect of his time at Everton, with the striker coming back for a second spell in 2017.

Calvert-Lewin also praised Ademola Lookman, who he described as one of the most gifted dribblers he’s played with.

Richarlison was also a feature of his team, and he’ll surely find what Calvert-Lewin said about the Brazilian quite heartwarming.

He said: “Richarlison, probably the player I enjoyed playing with the most. I think we just had this connection on the pitch, that when he did play together, we didn’t really have to say much to each other, but we both knew what we were going to do.

“At the time you don’t realise it until it’s finished.

“I look back at my time playing with Richy and it was a really enjoyable one. And we also had that healthy competitiveness as well.”

For Everton, the pair played 118 times together, and combined for nine goals. Three of those were Calvert-Lewin assists for Richarlison to score, and six were Richarlison assists for Calvert-Lewin.

Richarlison in Tottenham misery

There were certainly some good times for Richarlison at Everton.

The fans adored the Brazilian, and still think very fondly of him for the way he has maintained the relationship with the supporters since leaving.

Of course at the moment though, it’s not a particularly happy time for Richarlison at Tottenham Hotspur.

The north London club are in disarray right now, and are well and truly in a relegation dogfight.

It is certainly not out of the question they could go down.

And if that happens, it’ll be very interesting to see which clubs will go in for Richarlison, and whether Everton – who have long been linked – will be one of them.
