Welcome to a series focusing specifically on the schoolboys at Arsenal who are currently at Hale End – those in the U16s and below. The academy is based in E17, Walthamstow. The 19th article is on Leo Aliadiere.
The name Aliadiere is a very familiar one for many Arsenal supporters, with forward Jeremie having joined the club as a youngster before going on to make 50 senior appearances.
There is now a possibility that Aliadiere’s son Leo could follow in his footsteps by eventually representing the first-team.
A versatile player, Leo can play as an attacking midfielder, a striker or out wide and is currently part of Arsenal’s U14 squad.
With some players in older age groups having departed, Aliadiere received an opportunity at U16 level recently and made the most of the chance as he found the net against Chelsea.
Aliadiere possesses clever movement and linkup play and will now be hoping for further chances with the U16s.
Last season he was part of the Arsenal U13 side that were crowned Premier League Super Cup winners.
Aliadiere, who recently signed a sponsorship deal with Adidas, has made encouraging progress through the ranks in recent years.
