The Chicago Bears saw their Maxx Crosby dream fly away as the Las Vegas Raiders agreed to trade the star defender to the Baltimore Ravens. However, the Raiders announced that Baltimore pulled out of the deal, so Crosby remains in Vegas. That reopens the door for Chicago to go and get the defensive end.
With this chaotic news rocking the NFL world, no one really knows what to expect next, but Bears fans have quickly been pulled back in to the chase for Crosby. Chicago’s quarterback Caleb Williams recently fanned those flames with some interesting social media activity. On an Instagram post from the NFL, announcing that Trey Hendrickson will be joining the Ravens, Williams dropped a simple smiley face.
This singular emoji was quickly interpreted as the quarterback being happy that Baltimore pulled out of the Crosby trade, because the star defender could now find his way to Chicago.

Williams has made it clear early in his career that he hears everything, and he typically responds with his social media activity. So while it may seem like Bears fans are taking a big leap off one emoji, it’s a reasonable conclusion to jump to. Also, it’s not the first time Williams has gotten fans excited about the possibility of Chicago acquiring Maxx Crosby.
While the quarterback may want the star defender on the team, it’s unclear if the Bears want to go down that road. The Raiders are reportedly holding firm on their asking price of two first-round picks, so that’s something Chicago will have to consider, unless the team can talk Vegas down on its price. Additionally, there’s still the factor of Crosby’s health. The Bears will have to get their own doctors to take a look at the veteran defender and see if they have any concerns.
