Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario remains the leading candidate to replace outgoing Inter Milan veteran Yann Sommer.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the San Siro giants have earmarked the Italian star as an ideal long-term replacement for the Swiss ace.
Cristian Chivu’s men have decided to part ways with Yann Sommer at the end of the season.
Indeed, the 37-year-old’s contract runs out in June, with the club unwilling to offer him a new deal.
Therefore, Sommer will leave the Nerazzurri after three years, with the Serie A leaders turning their attention toward the former Empoli man to fill the void.
Guglielmo Vicario Remains Top Candidate to Replace Yann Sommer at Inter Milan
Inter had tried to sign Guglielmo Vicario after selling Andre Onana to Manchester United in 2023, only for Tottenham to beat them to the punch.
Fast forward three years, and the 29-year-old could finally land at San Siro.
With Igor Tudor suddenly deciding to sideline Vicario from his project in North London, Inter’s hopes of signing the Italian ace have received a major boost.
In addition to VIcario, Inter are also monitoring Real Madrid backup goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
Furthermore, they’re still keeping close tabs on Cagliari’s Elia Caprile and Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi.
