An emotional Jordan Clarkson returned to Utah with a bang.
Over the 2025 NBA offseason, the former Utah Jazz forward agreed to part ways with the team he spent over five years with. After doing so, Clarkson signed with the Knicks, where he anticipated a key role on a contender.
At first, he got that. Over time, Clarkson’s role shifted. He started collecting DNPs–and when he did play–Mike Brown wouldn’t offer up too many minutes.
With a shorthanded lineup against the Jazz, Clarkson landed 26 minutes of playing time. He made the most of it by producing 27 points on 10-15 shooting from the field, and 3-5 shooting from deep.
The Knicks beat the Jazz 134-117.

Here’s how Knicks fans on Reddit reacted to the big night from the veteran sharpshooter:
Disastrous_Gene8986: “Put the word out. Jordy McClarkson back up.”
SirGingerbrute: “This is the perfect type of game for him. His offense and willingness to be aggressive (against a tanking team) is more important than a well rounded player. Need points to comeback.”
Drying-Pan: “This guy has one of the most toxic shot selections I’ve ever seen in my life but damn it sometimes we just need it. The ultimate “no no no no YES” guy.”
Disastrous_Gene8986: He was important in the cup and he is important now.
solo118: “He is still instant offense, sometimes you need that.”
The 33-year-old has spent a lot of time playing in low-stakes situations. Since 2014, Clarkson has been a part of four playoff runs.
His last playoff run occurred in 2022 with the Jazz. They had a six-game run that year.
After several seasons of playing in a losing situation, it was time for Clarkson to move on. His contract with the Knicks is for one season, and it’s worth a reported $2.2 million.
It’s not a major investment for the Knicks, but the fans still want to see Clarkson do well, as he came with a ton of hype surrounding him.
zilnasty: People hating on him cuz they believe in stats more than understanding what’s actually happening on court. This dude puts up numbers. Guaranteed buckets. These bandwagon haters need to stop
