DONEGAL star Conor O’Donnell is looking forward to a trip to Dr Hyde Park this Sunday as Donegal take on Roscommon in Round 6 of the National Football League.
After a weekend without football fixtures, Donegal are back in action this weekend when they travel to the Connacht outfit.
Mark Dowd’s men only returned to Division 1 this term following their promotion from the second tier last year alongside Monaghan.
However, they’ve performed superbly so far, sitting fourth in the table, and with the St Brigids players only returning to the squad they will only grow in strength.
Jim McGuinness’s side maintained their unbeaten record in Division 1 last time out when a late two-pointer from Peadar Mogan earned them a share of the spoils against Galway in Ballyshannon.
A result against Roscommon would earn the reigning Ulster and Dr McKenna Cup champions a place in the Division 1 Final at the end of the month, a first since 2007.
O’Donnell, pictured below, has been in a rich vein of form for Donegal, finding the back of the net in the last three encounters and he’ll be aiming to extend this run against the Rossies this Sunday.
However, the Carndonagh native is aware of the threat that the Connacht outfit possesses and he’s eagerly anticipating a trip to Dr Hyde Park to face them.
“Definitely, Roscommon are going very well. Not a lot of people were maybe tipping them to do well but they’re an extremely good team with a lot of good players as well.
“When you see the results, they’ve gotten a couple of really big results so we’ll be looking forward to going down to the Hyde and playing them.”
