The Tottenham star has been linked with a move away for quite a while.
Tottenham centre-back Micky van de Ven has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Hotspur Way as the Dutch centre-back looks for a change in employers in the summer transfer window.
And there have been a lot of reports about the former Wolfsburg defender being a possible target at Anfield Stadium as Liverpool look to put in a long-term plan to transform their back line. And for them, replacing Virgil Van Dijk at L4 has become a priority increasingly, and that is where many think Van de Ven will fit in.
But it looks like the Reds’ stance has shifted.
Liverpool to cool interest in signing Van de Ven?
According to Liverpool journalist Dom King, the Merseysiders Red are not pushing for a move to sign Micky van de Ven despite all the rumours going around.
Speaking in a recent interview, he suggested that Arne Slot & Co. are not actively pushing to take the Lilywhites defender to Kirkby.
Dom King rules Liverpool out of Van de Ven race
He spoke recently, suggesting that Liverpool are at least not pushing to sign him at the time of writing.
While he did remind that the transfer market and clubs’ preferences can always change, he was insistent on the current mood inside. Anfield that the £100m Van de Ven is not a priority target at L4 going into the summer window.
King tells talkSPORT: “From what I’ve heard, I don’t I don’t believe they’re in for him. I would never say anything definitively about a football transfer because things can change.
“I would believe that he would want to come to Liverpool. That’s from what I’ve heard, but I’m not sure that the feeling is totally mutual at this moment in time.”
While this will come as a massive boost in the Lilywhites’ push to keep hold of him, there will surely be other clubs interested in his signature when the summer comes. Micky van de Ven is one of the better centre-backs in the country at the moment, and that kind of quality is always going to lead to pursuits.
But those suitors would be bagging on the problems within the corridors at Hotspur Way to try and prize away his signatures.

For Liverpool, they do need a tactical and physical profile that is similar to Van de Ven’s, but possibly the price tag that they would be expecting Tottenham to ask for is what will ideally be forcing them to turn their heads away from the 24-year-old centre-back.
But should Tottenham be forced to conduct a summer overhaul or potential relegation, then Van de Ven could still become available at a price that would attract their attention.
But for Lilywhites, they would be hoping to keep hold of him when the next season commences.
