What Robert Sanchez did to Filip Jorgensen straight after Chelsea's loss to PSG - journalist

Liam Rosenior went with Filip Jorgensen instead of Robert Sanchez in the first leg of Chelsea’s last 16 Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

It was a decision that backfired, as Jorgensen made a horrible error that contributed to Chelsea losing the game 5-2.

Sanchez would have been disappointed being left on the bench, but there does not appear to be any hard feelings between the Spaniard and Jorgensen.

Robert Sanchez convinced Filip Jorgensen not to go straight down the tunnel

Jorgensen was in no mood to hang around at the full-time whistle following his costly mistake. Understandably, Jorgensen’s heart was set on heading straight down the tunnel after a disappointing night.

However, Sanchez managed to convince him to join the rest of the squad on the pitch as they thanked the away supporters.

The scene was shared by French journalist Julien Laurens on X, who was at the Parc des Princes to watch one of the biggest collapses in the Champions League this season.

The score was level at 2-2 until the 75th minute when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put PSG in front after Jorgensen’s mistake.

Chelsea then went on to concede a further two goals, effectively ending the tie. They now need to win by four clear goals in the second leg in order to progress to the quarter-finals.

Kvaratskhelia has put PSG’s win down to desire, yet it was simply an individual error that set them on their way to victory.

Robert Sanchez should start Chelsea’s next game

Chelsea face Newcastle United on Saturday, and Rosenior would be the craziest man in west London if he started Jorgensen in goal again.

What should Liam Rosenior’s next move be?🤔

Sanchez made some errors himself against Arsenal at the start of the month, but he has been pretty consistent overall this term.

Jorgensen, on the other hand, has not been reliable since joining Chelsea from Villarreal.

Ultimately, Sanchez should never have been dropped. Rosenior now has to do the right thing and restore him to the starting XI.
