With compensatory draft picks announced, we now know the official and up-to-date 2026 draft picks for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They shook things up with their Monday afternoon trade for WR Michael Pittman Jr., but still own 12 picks in the upcoming draft, including five over the first two days.
Here are the Steelers’ official selections as of March 12.

The Pittman trade details weren’t immediately announced other than a reported “late-round pick swap,” but we now know the Steelers gave up a sixth and got a seventh in return in what was essentially a salary dump for the Colts. Pittsburgh only moved down 16 spots in that swap.
Pittsburgh hasn’t made at least 12 picks since the 1992 draft, when the event was still 12 rounds long. They had at least 12 picks entering the draft in 1998 and 1999, but made trades to get under that number. While possible that they use all 12 picks, they would be hard-pressed to fit that many rookies on the roster. Chances are high that another trade or two happen leading up to, or during the draft to either move up in 2026 or accumulate picks for 2027.
The Steelers received the maximum possible number of compensatory picks with four this year, and already seem to be angling for another comp pick haul in 2027. That may turn into an annual strategy for Omar Khan moving forward after years of sparsely using the system at the end of Kevin Colbert’s tenure.
Wide receiver and cornerback were at the top of the list originally, but they added bonafide starters at both positions via free agency and the trade market. Now their options are wide open to double down on those positions, or look elsewhere at OT, OG, DT, or even S. Kenneth Gainwell’s departure also opens a sneaky need at RB with Kaleb Johnson still a giant question mark on the roster.
The 2026 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 23 in Pittsburgh for the first time in the modern era.
Here is the NFL’s official press release with all the 2026 picks, though their link doesn’t yet reflect the picks involved in the Pittman trade.
