West Ham can upset Man City as Nuno boasts sublime record against Guardiola

West Ham are not expected to get anything from Saturday’s game against Manchester City.

City won the reverse fixture 3-0 earlier in the season, and the Hammers’ record against Pep Guardiola is dismal.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo has plenty of experience in defeating Guardiola throughout his Premier League career.

Even though he oversaw the aforementioned 3-0 defeat, Nuno could inspire a famous victory over City this weekend.

The fixture we all dread… 😮‍💨

How on earth can West Ham beat City WITHOUT Summerville?

Nuno Espirito Santo’s impressive record against Pep Guardiola

Nuno has beaten Pep Guardiola four times in the Premier League, with three different clubs.

Only former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp (five) has won more league games against Guardiola in his top-flight career.

Nuno’s Wolves team did the double over Man City in the 2019/20 season, winning 2-0 away and 3-2 at home.

The Portuguese boss beat Man City again in August 2021 as Heung-Min Son’s strike gave Tottenham a 1-0 home victory.

If Summerville is out, who do YOU want to see start on the left?

Most recently, Nottingham Forest won 1-0 against Guardiola’s side in March last year — a huge result in the race for the European places.

Nuno has also lost six league games against Man City, so his record is not bulletproof, but he gives the Hammers a solid chance.

Perhaps the time has come for West Ham to cause an upset in this fixture after 10 years without a win.
