Mario Gila has emerged as one of Serie A’s most reliable defenders in recent seasons. Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton are considering the possibility of bringing him to England.
This season, the Spaniard has played 28 times in all competitions for Lazio. While he is a centre-back by trade, he also filled in at central midfield during a major injury crisis under Maurizio Sarri.
He’s become a bit of a leader in Rome, having joined from Real Madrid in 2022.

It is believed the defender does not want to renew his Lazio contract anymore, with his current deal expiring in 2027. This is now forcing the Biancocelesti into a summer sale and they naturally want as much as possible from his exit.
Milan’s task is unlikely to be easy. Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton have ‘burst onto the scene’ for Gila in recent weeks. Atletico Madrid are also keen and see him as a replacement for Jose Maria Gimenez.
The Rossoneri do not want to be involved in a bidding war in this saga, as they’re aware of how Lazio can turn this into a major auction.
This making the San Siro side possibly accelerate a move before other competitors take action.
