LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Commanders announced today that they have re-signed defensive end Drake Jackson. Full terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Jackson (6-4, 273) is entering his fourth season after being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round (61st overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. In his career, Jackson has appeared in 26 games and recorded 24 tackles, 6.0 sacks, nine quarterback hits, five tackles for loss, nine passes defensed and one interception.
Jackson signed with Washington in 2025 and appeared in three games for the Commanders at defensive end after recovering from a knee injury suffered prior to joining the team.
Prior to signing with Washington, Jackson spent his entire career in San Francisco.
In 2023, Jackson played in eight games where he had seven total tackles, 3.0 sacks, three quarterback hits, two tackles for loss and one pass defensed.
In 2022, Jackson saw action in 15 games totaling 14 tackles, 3.0 sacks, eight passes defensed, six quarterback hits, three tackles for loss and one interception.
Jackson, a Corona, California native, attended Centennial High School. Jackson played collegiately at the University of Southern California where he recorded 103 tackles, 12.5 sacks, two interceptions and two passes defensed.
