Some of the free agent deals that have been reported over the last few days have been officially announced by the Tennessee Titans this morning. The team confirmed the signing of defensive lineman Jordan Elliott, center Austin Scholttman, and cornerback Alontae Taylor.
Elliott spent the last two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He was a third-round pick out of Missouri in 2020. He was obviously with Robert Saleh last season, so he will bring with him familiarity with the system.
Speaking of familiarity with the system, Schlottman spent the last two seasons with Brian Daboll in New York. He went undrafted in 2017 but caught on with the Denver Broncos. He is expected to compete with Jackson Slater for the starting center position.
Taylor spent the first four years of his career with the New Orleans Saints after being a second-round pick out of the University of Tennessee. He is one of the few guys in this free agency class who doesn’t have familiarity with the coaching staff. Taylor immediately moves to the top of the cornerback depth chart.
