Travis Kelce, the 14-year NFL veteran tight end who’s at least as well known for being Taylor Swift’s fiance, signed on as a brand ambassador for Charlotte-based Six Flags Entertainment Corp.
Six Flags is the parent company of Carowinds, the 400-acre theme park that straddles the North Carolina and South Carolina line between Charlotte and Fort Mill. Six Flags announced the partnership with Kelce on Thursday. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
This year, Kelce will help market Six Flags parks including supplying digital content across social media platforms. Six Flags will use Kelce’s name, image and likeness in marketing its parks.
The news release announcing the partnership doesn’t list if or when Kelce might visit specific parks.
Kelce’s fun-loving personality and commitment to excellence on the football field are traits that will help grow the Six Flags brand, the company said.
“Six Flags parks were a hallmark of my childhood and the scene of some of my most fun and cherished memories,” Kelce said in the release.
Six Flags is the North America’s largest theme park operator with 26 parks, 15 water parks and nine resorts across 16 states.
A three-time Super Bowl Champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelce agreed on a one-year contract this week to return for his 14th season. That deal is worth $12 million, according to ESPN reports.
Kelce and Swift, one of her generation’s preeminent pop stars, are planning to marry this summer, according to multiple media reports.
