Despite a messy situation and a failed attempt to trade him this month, a new rumor suggests Maxx Crosby will be a Las Vegas Raider in 2026.
Over the last few months, the once-strong bond between the Raiders and top star Maxx Crosby has gone south fast. It all started at the end of this past season when the organization asked the passionate pass rusher to sit out the final two games of the schedule so they could unofficially tank to get the No. 1 pick in next month’s NFL Draft.
The plan worked, but their relationship with the five-time Pro Bowler ended up being the collateral damage. It is why rumors swirled for weeks that he would be traded, and that became a reality last week when it was announced Las Vegas was sending Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in a deal that would land them a pair of first-round picks.
Then, like the relationship between the Raiders and Crosby, the deal shockingly fell apart this week when Las Vegas announced the Ravens had “backed out” of the trade. Yet, despite returning to the silver-and-black, ESPN’s Dan Graziano claimed on a Thursday morning edition of SportsCenter that a trade was still a strong possibility in the coming days and weeks.
Maxx Crosby and the Raiders back on good terms after failed trade?

Yet, on Wednesday night, a social media post from Maxx Crosby suggested he is just fine sticking around with the Raiders in 2026. “Everything Happens For A Reason. Believe Nothing You Hear & Half Of What You See. Im A Raider. I’m Back. Run That S***,” he wrote in a post on X.
Some believe it is just his public face on what has been a messy situation over the last few weeks, and he still wants out of Las Vegas. However, a new report points to the organization being in favor of the star pass rusher remaining with the only team he has ever played for, for at least another season.
“Per a league source, the Raiders are currently telling teams that defensive end Maxx Crosby won’t be traded, in the aftermath of the failed effort to ship him to the Ravens for a pair of first-round picks,” Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reports.
A week ago, a new report emerged on the various issues the defensive end had with the team, including an ally of minority owner Tom Brady that has rubbed many in the organization the wrong way.
