The Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders stunned the NFL world when the former backed out of a reported trade that would have sent star edge rusher Maxx Crosby to the AFC North club.
Crosby took to social media on Wednesday night and wrote (among other things), "Im A Raider. I’m Back."
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reported further on the matter Thursday morning, seeming to confirm that the five-time Pro Bowler is indeed back with the Raiders for good.
"Per a league source, the Raiders are currently telling teams that defensive end Maxx Crosby won’t be traded, in the aftermath of the failed effort to ship him to the Ravens for a pair of first-round picks," Florio wrote. "The Raiders, we’re told, never wanted to trade him. He wanted out. Now that he’s back and has publicly recommitted to the Raiders, he’s staying put."
Thursday's news comes on the heels of a report in early March that said the New England Patriots were among seven teams "keeping tabs on" Crosby's availability.
Since the Raiders-Ravens Crosby fiasco, the Patriots have been busy in the early stages of NFL free agency, reportedly agreeing to deals with defenders like linebackers Dre'Mont Jones and K.J. Britt.
