Green Bay Packers: Rasheed Walker gets curious #1 available NFL free agent rating

Three days of NFL free agency have passed, and the Green Bay Packers have been busy. They signed cornerback Benjamin St-Juste and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave as outside free agents, but they also re-signed multiple players that were on their roster in 2025.

Additionally, several former Packers players have found new homes. Malik Willis has, as expected signed with the Miami Dolphins. Quay Walker signed a three-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. Kingsley Enagbare, too, has left to join the New York Jets. Finally, Romeo Doubs has signed a big contract with the New England Patriots, who appeared in the Super Bowl last year.

One former Packers player that remains un-signed, though, is left tackle Rasheed Walker.

In the days leading into free agency, many expected Walker to be among one of the first players signed. After all, he is one of just a few true left tackles on the market. As of yet, though, he has not been signed by any NFL team.

Bleacher Report recently released their list of the top 50 free agents available after the first three days of free agency, and Walker was ranked first:

“Starting-caliber left tackles are always at a premium, and while Rasheed Walker isn’t elite, he is starting-caliber.Pro Football Focusranked him 41st among 89 qualifying offensive tackles in pass protection this past season, and Walker has appeared in all 17 games in each of the past three seasons.

“Having turned 26 in February, Walker has long-term value and room to improve.

“While Walker’s technique and play strength could both be improved, his 6’6”, 324-pound frame and strong movement skills are desirable. He has the baseline traits needed to grow in a variety of blocking schemes.

“Walker should be the top free-agent target of every team with a need at left tackle and money to spend. Dan Moore Jr., who is probably a tier below Walker, commanded afour-year, $84 millioncontract a year ago.”

**Potential Suitors:**Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns

It is rather interesting that the Chicago Bears were named as a potential landing spot for Walker, as he spent four years facing them twice a season (three times in 2025) as a member of the Packers. Indeed, the Bears do need to some offensive line depth, but the four-year $90 million contract BR predicts he will get may be too rich for them.

The Cleveland Browns would be interesting because they just signed for Packers Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins. In theory, they could move Jenkins back to left guard, sign Walker, and re-recreate the Packers’ left side from 2023-2024.

This all being said, Walker is a below-average run blocker and took a step back in pass protection last year. There is a reason Green Bay drafted Jordan Morgan in the first round in 2024. It may be that the former seventh round pick will not get the massive contract so many experts predicted he would receive.
