Falcons free agency 2026: Atlanta brings back DL LaCale London

A fair number of Falcons free agents have either left or will be leaving as a new regime puts its stamp on the franchise. Darnell Mooney, Kirk Cousins, and KhaDarel Hodge have been cut and are seeking new teams, David Onyemata, Dee Alford, and Kaden Elliss already landed with other franchises, and more will come. If the Falcons keep someone, you can bet they believe that player is important.

LaCale London is, happily, one of those re-signings.

The one-time undrafted free agent spent three years with the Bears, chiefly on their practice squad, and one year with the XFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks before the Falcons scooped him up in 2023. He appeared in seven games that year and looked very solid, but then spent the entire 2024 season on the practice squad with Jimmy Lake as the defensive coordinator. With Jeff Ulbrich back in town and Nate Ollie coaching the defensive line, London flourished in 2025, putting up a career high five sacks and providing above average work against the run. Given his extremely solid play, London figured to be a priority for a team that needs all the help it can get along their defensive front, and thankfully he was.

London should once again be a big part of the team’s defensive line rotation in 2026, and is a good bet to put up a few sacks and be a positive contributor. I’m glad he’s back.
