7 confirmed out of Chelsea v Newcastle United - plus two major injury doubts

Newcastle United injury news: The latest injury news affecting Newcastle United and Chelsea ahead of their Premier League meeting at Stamford Bridge.

The Magpies were denied a famous win against Barcelona by a last-gasp penalty, whilst Chelsea were beaten 5-2 away at the Parc des Princes a day later. Both teams, though, did not pick up any injuries in those matches, much to the relief of their respective managers.

Newcastle United continue to be without their captain Bruno Guimaraes, but are looking to build on a solid performance in midweek and close the gap between themselves and their European rivals. Chelsea, meanwhile, have just a couple of absentees this weekend and know that a win on Saturday evening would see them, albeit temporarily, move third in the Premier League table.

Here, we take a look at the injury news affecting both camps ahead of the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
